Brittani Boren Leach is a wife, mother and lifestyle blogger and we recently had the pleasure of connecting with Brittani to learn more about her vlog and her love for O-Cedar products and how she incorporates them into her everyday life.
Why did you decide to start a vlog?
When I was in high school I used to watch a lot of makeup tutorials and beauty related Youtube videos, which inspired me to eventually start my own YouTube channel one day. However, it wasn't until after I had my second son and left my job in nursing that my husband encouraged me to start my own vlogging channel. I'm so thankful my husband encouraged me to start! After my second son was born, I experienced some postpartum depression and by having my own creative outlet, it really helped me in my role as a new stay at home mom. When I first started vlogging, I primarily focused on beauty, but it quickly grew into other categories including lifestyle and my life as a mom.
What is the best and worst part about vlogging?
When it comes to vlogging, the good definitely outweighs the bad! The support that I have received from my subscribers and followers is beyond what I could have ever imagined. Even though many of my subscribers have never actually met me in real life, they have my back, which is amazing. It’s also awesome to know my children will have countless videos to look back on when they are older. It’s almost like a home movie! As far as the bad, there is always going to be comments, criticism and unwanted advice, but the longer I am vlogging, the easier it becomes to block out the negativity and focus on the positive.
Do you have any tips on you keep your growing household clean and organized?
Well with 4, soon to be 5, kids in our house, I can promise you it’s not always clean and organized! However, the biggest piece of advice I can offer is to declutter your house often. I am constantly going through clothing, toys and other trinkets and donating anything that my children no longer wear or play with. By being proactive with this simple act, I find our family home to be more organized and less cluttered. I also try to get the kids involved as much as possible because I have learned when they have to clean it, they respect the space more because they know how much work it took to get the space clean.
Do you have a favorite O-Cedar Product?
I am so excited to use the EasyWring™ Spin Mop & Bucket System. Our home has tile floors and with four kids, you can imagine they need to be cleaned quite often. The system is so easy to use even my kids can use it. I have a feeling they're going to enjoy mopping from now on and this mom is not complaining!
How do you get your family/children involved in the cleaning process?
My kids actually enjoy helping me clean and I'm so thankful for that, but sometimes cleaning is part of their weekly chores for the week and sometimes it comes with an incentive such as extra electronic time.
Do you have any recommendations for parents looking to get their own children and entire families involved in the household cleaning?
One of the things I do to help get my family involved in the cleaning process is cranking up some good music. A little dancing and singing while cleaning can go a long way and plus, who doesn’t love some good tunes!
