7 Cleaning Motivation Tips

7 Cleaning Motivation Tips

 | Get OrganizedCleaning Tips

It’s no surprise here, but we love messes. Whether it’s spring, summer, fall, winter, back-to-school season or just an ordinary weekend, cleaning is actually good for you, but even we need some cleaning motivation tips every now and then. Here are seven cleaning motivation tips to use the next time you need some extra motivation.

#1 Call a Friend While Cleaning
There are a lot of things in life that are better with friends including cleaning, so grab your wireless headphones and call a family member or good friend for a casual cleaning catch up. Before you know it, you’ll be catching up and chatting as you mop the floors with your EasyWring™ Spin Mop & Bucket System. If you’re really feeling motivated, you can even clean out your closet or organize the garage. Go you!

#2 Do One Thing Every Day
Who says you have to dedicate one entire day a week to cleaning? Instead, pick one day a week for one task, that way you can break up your entire cleaning list so by Sunday you will be enjoying your spotless abode. For example:

  • Monday: Dust surfaces.
  • Tuesday: Scrub sinks.
  • Wednesday: Run the dishwasher.
  • Thursday: Sweep and mop.
  • Friday: Take out recycling and trash.
  • Saturday: Laundry.
  • Sunday: Rest.

#3 Play Music
The same thing that can motivate you to get you through a workout can help motivate you to get your clean on. Make a custom playlist or use one of our customized playlists to motivate you to get to cleaning. Just because the music stops doesn’t mean you have to stop too.

#4 Read a Blog
Reading a cleaning or organization inspired article, blog or magazine can actually give you the tips you need to get motivated. Just don’t get so wrapped up in the blog post that you forget to clean!

#5 Start Small
One of the easiest ways to motivate yourself to clean is to start small with just one simple task. Whether it’s returning a water class to the kitchen, wiping down one countertop with an organic cleaning spray or cleaning one hard surface with the ProMist™ MAX Microfiber Spray Mop, accomplishing one small task can remind you just how painless cleaning can be. Don’t underestimate how much little actions can really add up too. Cleaning can be easy when you start off small!

#6 Treat Yourself
Cleaning is a lot more fun when there is a reward at the end of it. Schedule a manicure or pedicure, meet your friends for coffee or take 20 minutes to indulge in your favorite book and a square of dark chocolate, but only after you have finished cleaning. This way you’re motivated to get the job done because there’s something fun to do at the end of it.

#7 Try a New Product
Much like the excitement you get from a new pair of shoes that you cannot wait to show off, invest in a new cleaning product. Who knows, it may motivate you to use it (and clean) even more!

Try one (or all) of these cleaning tips the next time you need some extra motivation to help you clean.
